If you're having issues printing visitor badges and evacuations reports using your USB printer, a few easy steps may solve the issue. See the instructions below to troubleshoot your USB printer. 


FIrst, confirm your printer is connected via bluetooth. 

If your printer model number is QL-710W or QL-800, follow the USB troubleshooting instructions in this article.

USB PRINTER TROUBLESHOOTING


If you are having problems printing badges with a USB printer, see the different scenarios for troubleshooting below.


Kiosk Not Printing Badges

  1. Ensure that the kiosk is plugged into power.

  2. Ensure that the printer is plugged into power.

  3. Ensure that the printer is on and that the ‘status’ light is green.  No other light should be on.

  4. Ensure that the printer’s USB cord is plugged in FULLY to the printer.

  5. Ensure that the printer has badge tape and is installed properly

    1. Take out the badge tape roll and re-insert it inside the guide slot
    2. Feed the badge tape through the front of printer 
    3. Close the badge tape door 
    4. Pressing the feed and cut buttons
  6. If all of this is correct, unplug the printer power cord from the printer and wait 4-5 seconds

    1. Plug the printer back in and make sure that the status light is green.

    2. A pop-up screen will appear saying ‘Unfortunately, Accushield has stopped’.

    3. Tap ‘OK’.  The kiosk will sync.

    4. The ‘Sign In/Sign Out’ screen will appear after the system reboots.


Printer Status Light is Red or Flashing Red/Orange

  1. Check to make sure that the printer has paper installed.

  2. Check to make sure that the printer paper has not jammed.

  3. Check to make sure that the printer paper is fully and properly fed through the front by pressing the feed button and confirming smooth operation.


"Error Connect Socket Failed" Kiosk Error Message 

"Error Not Same Model"

  1. For the Brother QL-800 printer, make sure that the Editor Lite mode is disabled

  2. If the Editor Lite lamp is lit, press and hold down the Editor Lite button until the Editor Lite lamp turns off

Make sure badge printing radio button is set to on.
