These instructions walk you through the set up of your thermometer and kiosk upgrade (hot swap) and the process of returning of your previous hardware to Accushield. 


Follow the instructions below to begin the set up.  



SETTING UP YOUR NEW THERMOMETER AND KIOSK


1. Turn on the kiosk

a. Remove your new kiosk from the box

b. Keep the packaging. You will use it to send back your previous kiosk

c. Plug the kiosk into power 

d. The kiosk will turn on automatically

e. Wait for the Accushield application to open


2. Connect to Wi-Fi

a. Tap the "Go to Settings" button

b. Tap "Network & Internet"

c. Tap "Wi-Fi"

d. Tap the correct Wi-Fi network, type in the password and click 'Connect.'

e. Near the bottom of the screen, tap the circle icon to go back to the kiosk info screen. Or, press the
    "home" button on the back of the kiosk. This will take you to the Sign In screen.


3. Identify Your Printer

a. You will be using your existing printer with your new kiosk and thermometer

b. If your printer is a Brother model number QL-800, QL-710W or QL-810W, go to Step 4 below

c. If your printer is a Brother model number QL-820NWB, go to Step 5 below

4. Connect Printer with USB Cable

a. Make sure the printer is turned on.  If it is not, hit the power button on the printer (right-most button)

b. Plug the printer USB cable into the back of the printer

c. Tap the Accushield logo at the top of the kiosk home screen 5 times quickly and the "Kiosk Description"
    page will appear

d. Tap Print Test Badge on the left side of the tablet screen

e. If you get a screen pop up that says, "Allow the app to access the USB device", check the box to "Use by
default for this USB device"
and then select OK

f.  If the test badge prints, then your printer is setup

g. Skip to Step 6 below 


5. Connect Printer Using Bluetooth

a. Tap the Accushield logo at the top of the kiosk home screen 5 times quickly and the "Kiosk Description" page will appear (see the picture in Step 4.c. above)

b. Tap Settings from the left side menu options

c. Tap Connected devices and then tap Bluetooth

d. Turn Bluetooth On and then tap + Pair new device

e. Under Available devices, look for your printer (for example, QL-820NWB1234) and tap on it

f. A window will pop-up that says, “Pair with...”  Tap PAIR

g. Near the bottom of the screen, tap the circle icon to go back to the kiosk info screen.  Or, press the “Home” button on the back of the kiosk. This will take you back to the kiosk home screen

h. Tap the Accushield logo at the top of the kiosk home screen 5 times quickly and the "Kiosk Description" page will appear (see the picture in Step 4.c. above)

i. Tap Print Test Badge on the left side of the tablet screen

j. If you get a screen pop up to pair the bluetooth printer, select OK or PAIR

k. If the test badge prints, then your printer is setup


6. Confirm the Thermometer Type Setting

a. Go to https://dashboard.accushield.com and log in

b. Hover over the Settings tab 

c. Select Kiosks

d. Find your kiosk in the list and select the Edit Icon*

* If you do not see the Edit Icon in the kiosk list, then you do not have Community Admin permissions.
Go to the Staff tab and select Staff Member Accounts. Find your Community Admin(s) and ask them
to check the Thermometer Type

e. For Thermometer Type, confirm that Auto Capture is selected and that your Thermometer Model is selected


6. Connect the Thermometer

    1. Find the thermometer USB cable.  Attach the micro USB end/plug cable securely to the tablet micro USB port
    2. Plug the other end of thermometer USB cable into the mini USB port on the back of the thermometer.  A green light on the front of the thermometer should light up
    3. If you get a screen pop up that says, "allow the app to access the USB device", check the box to "use by default for this USB device" and then select OK
    4. Perform a test sign in and take a temperature measurement

7. Return your Previous Kiosk

a. A UPS return label was included in the box

b. Place your previous kiosk in the box and pack it securely so that it is not damaged in transit

c. Seal the box and stick on the UPS return label

d. Drop off at a UPS store or schedule a pickup
