Group SMS Notifications allow you to easily contact a large number of staff, vendors, and visitors who have signed in during a specified time period with an informative message. The Group SMS feature can be used to invite staff to a meeting, provide information related to parking or events for visitors, or inform the staff and outside guests of a positive Covid-19 case in the community, for example. 


Before being able to receive SMS Messages, we do require your visitors to opt-in and provide consent to receiving your messages. We accomplish this utilizing our Community Policy feature. 


Group SMS Notifications Text Message Policy


This policy gets automatically activated once you enable the Group SMS Notification feature & choose your visitor types on the "Sign In Features" page. 


You can review or deactivate this policy by navigating to "Settings" and choosing "Community Policies"


The policy will be titled "Text Message Consent" and will be required for each visitor type you chose on that previous "Sign In Features" page.

I hereby understand and consent to receiving periodic text messages related to important Community notifications or "emergencies", as defined under Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations. If I wish to opt out of receiving such text messages, I must notify the Community in writing. 



Should you need to provide a hard copy of the Text Consent Policy to any visitors or staff, the policy is attached to this article as well. 


Kiosk Functionality


The policy, once active, should start appearing on the kiosk during the sign-in process. 


The kiosk user can still proceed through sign-in if they choose to decline the policy. Despite the answer to the question, the kiosk user will not see the policy during any future sign-in at this time. 


Please note: Any kiosk user that declines the Text Consent Policy will not receive text messages that you send through the GROUP SMS Feature in the Accushield Dashboard.
